But lately, I have been getting extremely upset over something to the point where I can't breathe, and my chest is pounding, and I sometimes lose control, and pass out. I dunno what it means, or what it is... It just... scares me...

Anxiety attacks are physical symptoms such as pounding heart, fast breathing, tingling in limbs, inability to be still, etc. There are many symptoms.

It would be a good idea to see your doctor for a physical to rule out medical reasons for the symptoms.

When you work with a psychodynamic psychotherapist to find and explore the cause of the feelings that start the anxiety response (fear response of fight or flee), then the symptoms will lessen.

yeah, thats definitely something that could be an anxiety attack or a panic attack. what happens for me is that its hard to breathe and i have a headache and am lightheaded and am shaky then feel like passing out- so its pretty similar. for me, it helps if i just sit down and kind of brace myself so i can try and take some deep breaths and wait for it to pass. for me, its just a build up of stress and it just happens but it could be different for everyone. anyways, you should at least mention it to your doctor, see what they say. good luck
