I have been having severe panic and anxiety symptoms for the past few days so bad that I cannot function and am barely able to even type this. I don't know what else to do and I'm scared to death. I am on meds and have suffered with this for 5 years now but it hasn't been this bad in 5 years. Can you please pray for me?
Thank you. God bless.
Sherri

Blessing thoughts assured. Have you called your therapist or doctor? This time of year is extra hard on a lot of folks. Can you get some extra support from friends? Put on music that comforts your ears and settles your body? Keep breathing from your diaphram and keep us posted ok?

Well, Although I do see a psychiatrist, it's only for the medications. She will not do therapy and can only see me every 2-3 months and all she says to me is "are you losing too much weight"? Well, DUH! I just lost 50 pounds and was pretty chubby so I decided to do something about it. I guess to her that's a bad thing. It's just weird that its the only thing she's said to me in the 2 years I've been seeing her. The so called therapists at the center that she works for aren't PhD's to my knowledge and that's what was recommended to me by a psychiatrist that was working at a convention with my husband last month. I went to the websiteof my medical insurance andlooked up names of Psychologists with PhD's in my area and found that there are alot of them so I took thier names and numbers down and pray that one of them can take me and will be of help to me and has seen this kind of thing before.

Oh too funny, I just had My Dr get freaked out on me and one of the things was I lost wieght. Context contex. We have to know ourselves best. It was pretty cool though, because it was the first time she "moved" and I "held still", if you know what I mean....... losing wieght was not a sympton in this case.
I hope you find somebody who can hear you soon. Keep us posted please.

Thank you.
I called and made an appointment with my shrink for 1:15 today and pray that she will listen and be caring and do everything she can to help me through this. I need her now more than ever. ALthough I'm currently taking meds for anxiety, I may need an ajustment . I'm hoping she'll know what to do since she's been a shrink for over 30 years. As of last Thursday (just so you'll get a better understanding), Upon awaking(which has been early lately) I have been experiancing:

Nervousness
Racing heart/rapid pulse
Shakiness
Fearfulness
Neausea & dizziness
& Restlessness

I've been also wondering if some recent life situations could have triggered all of this(Such as my inlaws giving me a hard time,My cat having a tumor and having to have surgery on the 13th etc.) I can't say for sure but the symptoms that I'm feeling are very scary.

Just got back from seeing my shrink. Told her what was going on with me. She basically siad that she may have gone a little too far decreasing some of these meds from me(she mentioned the weight loss too) in the previous months so she made some ajustments and had me make an appointment for 2 weeks from now. She asked if today was a regular appointment and I said no, this is an emergency appointment. She was very standoff-ish, cold and bitter and seemed like she was anxious to get me out of her office as soon as possible which made me feel even less secure than before. Just to let you all know what happened today.

Feline, Just hang in there. You need to find a therapist, not a P-doc. You need more than just some meds, trust me. They do help, but talking to someone that can give you copeing mechanisms can really help. I have gone thru the same thing about the same time last year and found a good T and it has helped tremendously.
I will pray for you and send big hugs for you.

Just remember this! You are not alone. There are many others out there that feel the same way and have gone from being in a really really bad place to being happy. If I can do it you can too! You are not alone and we are always here for you.

Sometimes when a T needs to change something, the vibes we pick up and interpret as something against us, are really vibes of high energy concern from the T. Don't become a "mind reader" and read into anything about your T here. Sounds like she is responding appropriately (changing meds again, seeing you sooner?) and is very caring! TC New here. Please pray for me.

you got a lot on your plate with the surgery and the cat having a tumor, not to mention your inlaws. These are all reasons to be stressed. I hope you can find a psych who can give you counselling. Do you meditate? I would recommend this.

Chi, That's exactly what I needed to hear. I do feel alone and like I'm the ONLY one going through this. Right now, I am searching feverishly for a kind therapist that I can talk to and wont judge me for seeing a psychiatrist plus it's very important that they've seen this kind of thing(what I'm dealing with) with a person as well.I wish my husband would be more eagar to help me in my search but he is not that type unless I beg him and I dont want to be a burden on him. He has a negative outlook on all therapists anyway.Plus, since he's not going through this he doesn't fully understand so I'm basically doing this on my own as hard as it is for me in my debilitating condition. Please keep in touch with me cause I do feel alone. My name is Sherri by the way .

Sherri,

Do you know what the triggers are to your feelings. I think if you can isolate these, it will help you understand what you are really reacting to.

I hope you're feeling better soon, and I will be praying for you.

FH,

Am praying that God will surround you with a peace that passes all understanding, and feelings of safety and comfort.

Maybe you could call the offices of the Ph.D.'s you researched, and find out if any of them specialize in panic attacks.

Feel free to PM me.

We're here. Let us know how you are doing.

EJ
