OK,,, I'm feeling really bad today so I thought maybe I could cheer someone else up...
You know you have a panic disorder when......

your symptoms dissappear just before the er doc tor steps in to see you.
you drive yourself to the hospital to take a pill just incase you have a reaction.
your purse looks like a medicine cabinet
you know more symptoms about diseases then your doctor.

your turn... come on this could be fun NEED A LAUGH???

There was a thread like this either on this board a long time ago or it was probably on the previous board I belonged to which no longer exists.

Anyway, I remember someone's reply going something like this: There's a xanax tablet that has been in your jeans pocket for God knows how long, it's probably long expired and is mis-shapen and encrusted with lint but you refuse to throw it away, you know, just in case you ever need it. NEED A LAUGH???

You know your having a panic disorder when.................

You read all the side effects of the medication before taking it. After taking it you think you feel them all

Or, you read all the side efects and say to yourself, "What the hell, I already have most of these symptoms, so I might as well take it!"

You know you have a panic disorder when you have a bottle of pills in every drawer in every room in your house and office, and purse (for ladies).

hahahahahahahahaha, y'all have some good ones!!!!!
I saw these on some panic attack website and are SOOO me!

Have you ever:

considered asking a poor relative to move in with you just so you'd never be completely alone if/when you panicked?

had your foot fall asleep and then cause a panic attack?

been happy with yourself because you had a panic free day, than immediatly started panicing?

i know exactly what you mean. I seem to have bottles of medication everywhere, in the car in case i forget my purse, in my purse for when i leave the house, and in my kitchen for just anytime. As for the er, been there a few times but just wondering if anyone else has called the paramedics only to have all symptoms subside the very second they set foot in the door.

Believe it or not I had a panic attack (like in the post above) when my legs fell asleep! I was really young, maybe 13 or14, and was kneeling down, sitting on my legs on the floor. I guess I tried to move and couldn't and immediately panicked and screamed thinking I was of course, dying and my sister yelled to my mother, "Mom!" As in, mom, she's freaking out again.

Hi folks,

Me too. The only predictable thing about this illness is the unpredictability!

Good thoughts,
