I just need to let this out, cause I'm feeling a bit upset. ^^;

Yes well to start I have been having major problems with school. Let's just keep it as school in general cause I always lie about my age and junk on forums like these (Safety measures you know?)

So yes I have been having major problems. First off I forget things easily and forget to turn in my assignments a lot, or even to do them. I also have a LOT of trouble with Math and Science and it doesn't help that I have exams in both of them at the end of the year that determines my future. T_T

So this morning my mom called me to get up for school, and I did something I haven't done since I was about seven. I burst into tears and started screaming for her to let me stay home, to please not send me there again, that kind of stuff. O.o Honestly I didn't think of what I was saying at the time, I just lost it. I don't really want to face my teachers again and hear the same old things,

"You're a smart girl, you just need to apply yourself."

"You don't really have memory problems, that's just something you made up for your own convinence isn't it?"

"You're going to fail if you don't start working at it!"

Well I do work! I do try! It's just nothing ever happens when I do. o.o I like school in general, I'm fine socially I have about nine really good friends and a lot of good aqquantinces and that's all I need. I just can't keep up with the work.

Thanks for letting me rant a bit. Sorry if this takes up space or I wasted anyone's time. ^^;

Kind of had a mental breakdown this morning..... Love Jen

Jayna,

I'm so sorry to see worry and stress hitting a person so early in life!

I would recommend being really open with your Mum and telling her that you can't do the math stuff. I could never do it but it didn't stop me getting a degree.

Maybe you could tell your Mum about the subjects you are good at, and what you enjoy doing at school, kind of balance it out a bit.

Good luck, Myzen

I used to get the 'smart girl, you need to appy yourself' line alot in school...kindergarten through 11th grade. I use to try and stay home alot because I couln't deal with school, either. I had problems with some of the kids as well as the teachers and the work in general. I hope you find a way to deal with this, as it IS quite important to your future (sorry another line, I know) o.o I changed schools, to an alternative school. You could go at your own pace and I ended up going faster than I would have at 'regular' school. *shrugs* I'm going off on a tanget, sorry. I'll shut up now =X XD

I'm so sorry you are having such a rough time with school. Yeah, I can totally relate. I started having troubles in school when I was about 11 or 12. I was smart enough, I just couldn't seem to keep up with everyone else. I'm not one that puts much faith in the school system to determine if you're smart or not in the first place.

Hang in there. BTW, you ARE NOT taking up any space at all!

Jayna,

Glad you have strong social support at school.

Have you tried getting a tutor? I'm not sure what else to suggest. Anyone else have any ideas?

I think you just reverted to a behavior that you knew worked for you in the past.

Besides getting a tutor if possible, as Jane suggested, go to your teachers when you don't understand something, and tell them to explain it to you, and if you still don't get it, tell them. It's their job to help you.
