I was prescribed Abilify and Ativan, but I really don't like taking meds as I always feel they don't work for me. I started out taking Pristiq, then Viibryd and had no luck with either. Jump to now, and I'm feeling the same way. The Ativan helped, but I really hate that class of drugs (Benzodiazepines) as I misused/abused them many times. I know everyone's different, but has anyone found something that successfully has worked? I'm getting a bit discouraged...

I'm sorry you are feeling discouraged. Sometimes it can take a while to find the right medication for you. Don't give up! I'm on Celexa for anxiety and it's helped a lot with certain anxieties. Like... I can leave my room at night without freaking out and can turn my TV off without turning every noise into the boogeyman. But for other stuff that causes panic I was given something else. I hope you find something that works for you!

My current meds are just making me feeling terrible I believe. It seems like I'm sick every week. I've only left the house once in almost 2 weeks. I see my psychiatrist the Friday after this one, so I'll update him on what's going on. I know things will get figured out, I guess I'm just feeling impatient. Thanks for the encouraging words!

Zoloft works well for me, but it took 5 different ones to figure out what worked best for me. It's a really long road, letting meds take affect, actually giving them a chance to work, withdrawal, and repeat. I'm sorry it's so hard on you right now. All I can tell you is that it was well worth it for me. There's nine that will be a magic fix, but it can definitely help bring you to a socially acceptable functioning level.

I am strong and will hang in there until I find the right medicine that works for me. I just want to be able to get out more without the constant worrying. I will keep on with this long journey and be successful :-)
