She gets me all the time! my teenager!!!!
I was feeling so good for a change last night...
before she decided to have a party without asking and played loud music and made noise until 2 in the morning...
I couldn"t sleep, didn't want to embarass her infront of her freinds but it stressed me out and I let her know it after they left...
Teenagers!!!!!!!!! my teenager!!!! my teenager!!!! my teenager!!!!

You're a lot more patient than me, Patricia. I totally would've embarassed her in front of her friends.

I have learned to build a very high tolerence and ya I am extremely patient in most situations...
I still have sooo much rage inside of me due to my past that I fear my own temper.
I am black and white.... I am really nice or really nasty... I prefer to remain nice and keep my nasty temper in check.
My relationship with my daughter is a bit complicated too.... she loves to challenge me and has quite a character and temper of her own...
I am careful with how I interact with her.

Hi Patricia,

I'm a teenager, and even I think your daughters behaviour and choice to do that was a bad one!

The way you explain her behaviour, she sounds exactly like my sister! Teenagers are SUPPOSED to be embarassed by their parents, its a fact of life. I've been embarassed, and even though I wasn't happy because of it, I wasn't scarred emotionally either.

If you really don't want to get into a confrontation with her, is there any way you can prevent this sort of thing from happening again? Pick a time where you're both calm and tell her that you'd appreciate it if she informed you of any such happenings before they occur again. If she refuses to listen to that, some sort of punishment can work at times. If she's got it, take away her phone or driving priveleges, time out with her friends... anything so she learns that YOU are the boss.

Teenagers! *grumble* (I'm allowed to do that, I'm 3 months away from no longer being one. )

I was able to talk to her again thismorning and it went well...
I really appreciate your input as a teenager yourself...
She is very popular, head a bit swollen, and doesn't realise who's the boss, as you so very well put it. That is something I am working on,
take care,
Patricia

Pat -

How old is your daughter?

Her knowing that you are the boss is extremely important in her healthy development.

Hugs,

EJ

My daughter is going on 16 but has an attitude and mentality of around 18.... she is always with older people, like me when I was her age, and she is the youngest in her gangs.
