So I didn't even know that I had a problem until my son was diagnosed with OCD and ADHD at the same time. I had been on meds for a while, but went off of them when I found out I was pregnant this time. I am back on some of them now, but I am having problems still because I can now see that the problems that I am having with my OCD is clashing with the problems that my son is having with his OCD. I feel like a silly little child because I know he is only five and I should be the adult, but we are constantly butting heads! Has anyone else had this problem with a child having the same problems as them and trying to go through the treatments at the same time? What did you do about it? HELP!!!

I don't have any answers, but I wanted to let you know someone has read your post and cares.

I admire you for getting treatment for yourself and your son..when I was a child my and the parents problems were all pushed under the carpet....

I have OCD, too, but I don't have any answers, either. However, I have to ask, are you currently pregnant? I wasn't sure about that from your post. I don't want to scare you, but there was a recent news report that drug companies are in trouble, because they gave misinformation concerning the risks of certain drugs, and promoted them falsely to doctors. These drugs include Paxil (which I read can be dangerous to pregnancy) and Neurontin. You might want to talk to your doctor about that.

Yea... I am pregnant right now... about 5 months actually. When my doctor put me on meds this time again he put me on Prozac. I don't think that one is to terribly bad because I was on it with my 2nd one and he is fine. But that is good to know about the other two. I will make sure to say something again next time I go in. OCD is running my house!!!
