And am experiencing extreme sound sensitivity. Anyone else get that? How do you handle it?

I've struggled with anxiety for years. It's interfered with my life and made me completely dependent on other people. It made me have terrible self esteem, extremely low confidence and questioned my abilities and goals. Years ago they tried me on ativan for panic attacks but it actually would intensify the feelings. One of the biggest things I've found that has helped me is keeping a journal. It helps me organize my thoughts and keep track of goals and aspirations. When you're having a bad day, it's nice to be able to look back over what you wrote on a good day to help calm yourself. I also will ask myself what's causing the anxiety. If its something I can change, then change it! If its something irrational that I can't change, I try to remind myself of that too. Find something that works for you
Thanks for this!

Try removing yourself from that which gives you anxiety (this works for me) good luck!

I too get very sensitive to sound and it makes me very irritable. I try to ignore the noise. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. I hope my appointment next week will give me more suggestions

I too get very sensitive to sound and it makes me very irritable. Im dealing with anxiety and panic attacks. All the noice outside i.e. traffic or even wind blowing triggers me into a panic attack... Even my 6yr old can trigger me with her sounds and playing.
I find it best to use my ipod when I go for short walks to tune out all the sounds. Itīs good to listen to "singalong songs" coz it distracts you from the anxiety symptoms.
If the sounds bother me all day I try to play music, use earplugs or just avoid all that racket
Hope you get som good coping advises... we all need them, take care
