I think I might be agoraphobic. I hardly ever go out alone and can rarely bring myself to catch buses, trains, etc. alone. If I do manage to do this, I feel nervous, vulnerable and embarrassed, especially when I have to get up to get off the bus, train, etc. Does anybody know how to cure this?

Im not agoriphobic but do have problems being on buses and stuff because of flashbacks and panic attacks. I bought a bike and I bike it most of the time and when I have to take city bus line I take with me a walkman and some relaxing music and a tape my therapist and I made during sessions of relaxation visualizations. It works for me. hang in there.

Yep, talking to a therapist is a good start. There are some very effective treatments for agorophobia.

I was like that a couple months ago. Although at first when I did go out or was around people by myself I had quite a few panic attacks, after doing it repeatedly it seemed to lessen quite a bit.

So ultimately, you do need to push yourself out of your comfort zone...at least for a bit.
