zoloft side effects please help

I recently was prescribed 25mg of zoloft for my bad anxiety. I have a huge phobia and anxiety about dizziness. I am constantly worried I will get dizzy and sometimes I do. Not true vertigo but weird dizziness when i move my head...but not BPPV. I experienced a bad doctors visit who told me I had acute labyrinthitis...which ended up not being true when I went to an ENT who told me I could have never had that but that set me off to a horrible cycle of worrying I was gonna be dizzy and from then on I sometimes feel dizzy ( I am thinking anxiety related or neck related...very bad neck pain from time to time) So now I live my life worrying every moment and constantly checking to see if I am dizzy and I can not live my life anymore. So with this medicine I am EXTREMELY worried that it will cause me to be DIZZY as a side effect or when I come off the drug I will be dizzy. I have read so many horrible posts of peoples experiences and I want to know if EVERYONE feels dizzy on the drug or when they are coming off the drug?? Please some information would be greatly appreciated. What are the most common side effects and does everyone GET DIZZY?? Please help...feeling hopeless and scared.

I took Zoloft for a time - I had some stomach upset and felt slightly "strange headed" (these meds work in the central nervous system so it is understandable one would have some side effects related to the brain) but never dizzy. True vertigo (where one feels like they are standing still and the room is spinning 'round them) is caused by an inner ear problem and frequently associated with nausea.

Hope you have neither issue but if you do, then maybe it wasn't meant to be. Commitment to counseling and a support group are what got me better, not meds.

It took me about 9 months to get in balance.... and yes, the first month or so was horrible... and everytime they increased the doze.... maybe not as bad... but definately strange Hope you find some balance... Hugs

I hate u are going through this. I took Zoloft for almost a yr. The only side effect I had was loss of appetite. Be sure to speak w/ ur prescribing doc.

I get panicky when I get dizzy. Zoloft did not make me dizzy when I started, when I was on it, or when I was coming off of it. It did help tremendously with my anxiety.

The funny thing now is that I am on Buspar, which DOES make me dizzy. However, it is working, so my fear is extremely muted when I do get dizzy. crazy stuff.

Thats good to hear about the zoloft. Why does this new drug make you dizzy? is it really bad dizziness? Ah I hate dizziness it makes me sooooo nervous just hearing about it.

Dizziness is one of the side effects of Buspar. It's very sporatic, usually about an hour after I take it. I used to translate dizziness as panic, but since my anxiety is actually being alleviated by the Buspar, it's now something I notice and do not worry much about. Which is a very strange situation for me. I am used to worrying and being scared.

oo ok. but you really don't remember being dizzy with zoloft? you don't think I will be then right?

Hi, just wanted to tell you that I've had NO side effects on Zoloft. But it hasn't been helping either. I think the meds are different for everyone. Prior to that I was on Celexa, with really bad side effects, I fainted the first time I took it and was dizzy and heavy-cloudy-headed every day to the point the physical effects made it hard for me to get thru the day. For me it's been hard to think about changing the medication knowing there might be side effects, and that they might or might not go away as my body adjusts. But I want the positive effect the meds can have so badly that I'm willing to try.

No, I do not remember being dizzy with Zoloft. Zoloft really helped me stop worrying about things. I know it's nearly impossible to understand what that feels like unless you experience it. I'd definitely say it is worth a try.

One thing that helped me was to come up with a plan so that I did not over-monitor myself. I am scared of meds, so I knew I had to stop constantly checking to see if I felt funny.

I just restared zoloft Ihad been asking for it. Was never dizzy on it only side effect was loss of appetite which for me was good. Ihope you do not have side effects.
