I am taking an anti-depressant called Depramil (Citalopram) which has helped enormously for my anxiety. I have not had an attack in about 2 years.

I just found out today that my psychiatrist is super anti-benzo. He says he only prescribes them for two weeks at most when people really need them but he will let me have clonazepam 0.5mg PRN for the next two years or so when I get my OCD under control.

Sugarhorse-

I take klonopin for something other than anxiety, not psych related....none of my Pdocs want to prescribe ativan or xanax because of the K . I need a fast acting benzo. If had had an addictive personality, I probably would have died a long time ago. Klonopin does not make me euphoric, sleepy, nothing...just helps w/my other problem.

I am just unfamiliar with what you mean. I see my pdoc, every 6 weeks to make sure I am doing OK, while on the meds he prescribes.

.25mg Alprazolam and 10mg Zolpidem
I'm thinking that since I just changed to a new family doctor that he's hesitant to give me any prescription until the psychiatrist I am going to see in a few weeks okays it. I never really set myself up with a doctor while I was in school, and so I have to set everything back up at home again. It sort of sucks, but I overall still feel that so long as I have my Prozac and what remains of my old Klonopins I should be alright until then.

I'm on Xanax, Wellbutrin, and Buspar for Anxiety. I also self-medicate with alcohol, so I haven't been using my Xanax as much lately, maybe I'll start back-up with the Xanax tomorrow, it would definitely be easier on my waste line!

I have been on Klonopin since 2004 and while I DO have an addictive personality, I have NEVER abused my K-pin. Sleeping my life away does not appeal to me. It helps me sleep and it unties that knot in my stomach that someone else mentioned.

I used to be on Remeron for my anxiety,
I stopped taking it a year ago after I began to apply the skills I've learned in therapy to help calm me during bad anxiety times.

I've been prescribed quite a few things for my anxiety and depression but I was last p tee prescribed paroxetine which is an ssri. I was given that to treat all my conditions in one (anxiety, panic, depression, ocd and agoraphobia)

I take Klonopin. Usually twice a day to deal with work. Today I'm home and had to take two, one right after the other, in order to deal with the kids and such. Makes me drowsy but it's better the the alternative.
