I live near the New York City, but I can't look up at skyscrapers or I feel nauseous. I can't be in glass elevators because if I look up, down, or side to side I feel like I'm gonna fall out. I can be near bleachers because I will have panic attacks and feel like I will fall through the gap, it's so far up. My family went to Paris one year, and as we were on the Eiffel tower, I had my first panic attack (I was 6) and sat on the ground facing the wall and couldn't look at the beautiful view. Same goes for the Ferris Wheel. My crush at the time (my boyfriend now) asked me to go on the Ferris Wheel with him. Of course I said yes, but the entire time I was holding on for dear life and staring at the ground. How romantic. I close my eyes on Roller Coasters. Roller Coasters aren't that bad, my only "irrational" fear about them is them breaking down and me being stuck on it. Anyone else experience any of these things? Feel free to message me and we can talk.

I'm terrible with heights too. I went to a memorial building last year and they had mesh stairs and I was so anxious to go up it, but I did because my family wanted me to come up. The view was gorgeous, but I couldn't go down even though it was 2 stories high. I'm afraid of heights and stairs so I had to sit on my butt and crawl down while I was crying. I can climb a mountain perfectly fine, but I'm bad with man made structures since I feel that they aren't safe. That's why i don't like stairs either, they seem like they would be so unstable and I hate when I see rust on the sides of them.

I am not scared of spiders or snakes, I live in an area where I see Black Widows around the house every couple days and I am not freaked out at all. But like you, get me high up in a building and just looking down outside I totally freak out internally. This is extremely common.
As long as it doesn't affect your life EVERY single day to the point where your suffering, you'd be OK. If it is causing you significant problems, then I guess you could help with it although I'm not sure I would want to go through with trying to break the phobia; it would be quite painful!
