So a friend has convinced me to meet her at a hookah club. I told her that i don't deal well in public situations that i don't know. It causes great anxiety. She said we will go when they open and hardly anyone will be there. Then she tells me she is bringing a friend....someone i don't know!!! It makes me even more anxious. Ever since we made plans this morning i have been stuck in anxiety hell. I want to call and cancel, but i don't want to disappoint her. Do i just suck it up and deal with it or do i cancel and get rid of the anxiety????

Sorry your anxiety was so bad. Hope it has settled down now.

I do not think you really wanted to do this thing? That is different from wanting to but not being able. "Chores" are not what it is about! Can you maybe think of a small restaurant you like and invite your friend to meet you there? That way you control who comes and when and where, etc.
