am i normal to want to have my family around me at christmas ? i get scared that we are going to be apart this years, going to miss there faces when they are opening there presents, not be around to listen to them fighting, when someone one of the other children are playing with their gifts. sitting down to christmas dinner and hearing them moan about brussel sprouts .
am i normal to want to be with my family this christmas time........

Yes, it is very normal to want what you want. Unfortunately everyone wants what they themselves want and that doesn't necessarily agree. It gets harder when people grow up or families grow apart over the years am i normal ?

Absolutely it's normal. To me, that's what Christmas is all about.
I hope you can be with your family this year. Even if it's to hear complaints at the dinner table about brussel sprouts.
Good luck in finding a house.

I too have a family member that I miss a lot especially during the holiday season. My son lives in a few states away from me and I miss him. Right now neither one of us can afford to have him come home. Thank goodness we have the telephone and computer to stay somewhat in contact. It certainly is hard.

I'd work with one of the friends to plan a "party" for sometime Christmas day so you all can meet at one place if possible? I go to my stepsister's Christmas Day, the one day a year I see my nieces/nephews and their children, my stepsister and her friends (she's 13 years older than I am but my father married her mother when I was 5 so I've known her over 50 years). Give everyone the task of bringing something to eat (I'm in charge of bringing a ham to Christmas dinner each year) or an activity/game idea, some simple crackers/decorations? The final effect could be the memory and everyone working together.
