I have the irrational fear of hair getting into my food and into my mouth, would this be considered Chaetophobia? Also, how do I stop this fear? I already have issues with eating so having the fear that hair will be in my food makes me neasuas and usually I have to stop eating. I haven't talked to my therapist about this problem yet since I have a lot of problems already.

medicalfox, I would bring this up with your therapist and see what she/he recommends.

I am no expert, but if something really affects your life to the point where you have to make changes to really avoid it, then that's when it heads into the phobia category.

Yes, I also agree that you need to talk to your therapist about it. I get really upset when I actually see a hair in my food--and can even start gagging--but I don't worry about it every time I eat.
