I've been noticing it a lot more over the past year... but my memory is getting worse and worse. I forget things or mix them up, and they're things I've never used to do (like locking myself out of my workplace and home, leaving the stove on... going to the grocery store and not having any idea what I needed... forgot to go to an appointment... took my students to the wrong classes... etc etc).

It seems to be getting to the point where as soon as something makes me feel stressed out and nervous, I instantly forget what went on unless I repeat it to myself over and over and over (I also find that if I'm stressed out and angry, I'll be more likely to remember what went on).

Like... I've recently started seeing someone new. I wouldn't be able to tell you anything I've shared with him, and in a short amount of time I can't even count how many times he's told me that I've already told him something. And yesterday, I did something as a joke that upset him. I don't remember doing it, and I don't know his immediate reaction. But I do know that he sort of recoiled and then felt like he just wanted to leave. But the memory of what actually happened? It's utterly and completely gone.

It's really been starting to stress me out a lot. I feel like I can't trust myself anymore.

That's scary. That would scare me. I already struggle with memory, which has developed over the years. It all started with a defense mechanism to block things out, ... it just got out of control. I seem to block things out in times when I'm stressed, ... so that's nearly all the time, if not. It's not as bad as it is with you. I think you should seek help. Perhaps medication will help. I'm on Propranolol which helps me. Best of luck.

I actually think my meds have been an influence on it!
