My anxiety level is through the roof the last few weeks! My muscles are aching, wondering if that's from tensing up so much. They ache so badly, I apply muscle-ache cream and it doesn't do the trick. I take valium and elavil and I'm still in such pain! I wonder whether this is all due to tensing my body because of anxiety? Also, have developed backaches, something I've never had before.
Is all this muscle tensing an anxiety thing? |

Yes i think that muscle tensness could have something to do with your anxiety levels. I know then when i'm feeling really anxious my muscles tense up and almost feel out of control (feeling really jumpy). I've never tried any creams before, but sometimes getting in a good stretch can help. I've gotten into the habbit of stretching before i go to bed and that really helps with sleeping. Backaches could also be a result of muscle tension so stretching might help that as well.
Hope this works Jacq

My anxiety is also at a high level the past few days and one way I know it is coming is the muscles tighten up in my neck and shoulders. I keep checking myself for scrunched up shoulders and I know I automatically do that and is a sign of stress for me. Take care!
