Since the end of September, I've had more migraine days than not. I've taken tylenol (which didn't help), and naproxen (which does bad things to my tummy). I've tried heating pads/towels, but hard to do while at work. It's even hard to sleep sometimes because of the pain. All I want is to hide in a dark quiet room. Can't do that at work.

Today, the headache is bad - even my face is swelling up. Could be sinus headache, but doesnt feel like it.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Migraines need special attention. Are you on any of the migraine meds? How about anti-nausea drugs? Also it would be good if you had a script for a good pain killer. Good luck.

I agree, migraines very much need special attention.

I take propananol daily, Amerge as needed. This has cut my migraine rate by at least half, which is what my doc said to aim for.

From what I hear and read and from my own experience, migraines are something to address specifically.

A great migraine site is M.A.G.N.U.M. . An excellent author to watch for is Dr. Stuart Tepper, he has a great book out on migraines that you probably can get through your public library.

Hope the migraine stops soon and you get good help.

Sarah

No painkiller. My face is still a bit swollen - where my jaw is below my ears. Dont know if thats related. My neck is really stiff. When I roll over in bed - c-r-a-c-k.

I'm going to the doc on the 15th for some blood tests and flu shot (if they're available for me), so I can talk to her then.

Does it really help? Usually if I turn upside down, all the blood goes into my head and that gives me a different kind of headache. Maybe it'll work when I have a migraine? Worth a shot. ty.

Sometimes Migraines are caused by hormonal changes in the body. Also a pinched nerve can cause migraines. So to..a lack of enough oxygen to the brain. So many triggers.Allergies to food. If i eat a chocolate bar...the next day..i wind up with a whopping whopper of a migraine.

If you have nausea along with your headaches..you may want to ask your Doctor to prescribe Phenergan tabs or suppositories. (The tabs are way cheaper)The last thing ya' need with a M.H. is severe nausea!!

Ginger does help. I drink Only Vernors' ginger ale. it contains the most amt. of ginger as compared to other ginger ales.

Ginger ale drinks help migraines? Great! Now if only I can figure out why my face (below my ears) is swollen. Sigh
