Sometimes watching nature shows or documentaries helps ease the pain of being apart from people. Having more online email or blogging contacts can help. Yoga helps my energy level (youtube + adrienne beginners yoga)
Sometime it is just okay to communicate with people from a safe distance and at home. |

A lot of things that I do are blogging online, I play a lot of games on the computer and will sit and watch Disney cartoons. I also find relaxation in loving on my cats. The fear of going out of the house and having people around me scares the snot out of me because it is so uncomfortable for me.
I hope that you can find some things to help you |

Sometimes I concentrate on my in and out breath that helps a little like when I have a ridiculous thought.

I find that journaling/blogging helps me get out my feelings while watching videos from the 'weird side of YouTube' help distract me from anxiety. Also watching/reading books as well as things from my childhood are nice as well. If you are lucky enough to live near a wooded area away from people, a nice walk always clears my head. Plus it's always good to get some fresh air.

Yes, I can definitely relate to having some social anxiety and have dealt with it in varying degrees of success at different points. Sometimes just getting away from people for a little while can really help me. If I've had a day where I had to be around people too much due to work or a social activity, just spending a few hours alone can really help give me some peace of mind or some space. If I am trying to deal with a situation that I know I have to face that is giving me anxiety, I usually take some deep breaths and really weigh the costs of how much the situation or person is capable of hurting me. Sometimes, at the end of the day, doing things to relax such as spending time with a pet, writing down my thoughts, or talking to a close friend can be really helpful.

I don't recommend this approach, as I'm now 29, unemployed, with no friends or social life to speak of. And now I'm terrified of even attempting to get back into society.

I have social anxiety (I think) but it doesn't stop me from leaving the house. After all, one can now buy their groceries without talking to anyone.
I go to work/to uni/to town without any problems. Maybe for those who can't leave the house there is this fear of attracting attention? Well, unless you slip on your butt or hit someone in the head you're not going to attract any.

HI I have had difficulties with anxiety in different situations over the years, affecting me both when on own and around, in contact with others. I can be anxious on one to one basis or in groups. I didn't like giving presentations at University. And socially, I've found it hard to connect well with others. I find a lot of the time i may talk to one or two people, but difficult forming good lasting friendships. and i can feel reptty uncomfortable as well in group activities. People can sense that and i feel they like ignore, avoid, leave me out of things.

I think I have just realized I have some social anxiety, especially about work. I always feel out of place in a group. I think I will go back to therapy to work on this. I have worked on everything else and feel like there is resolution on those issues. Now to attempt another hurdle.
