I have had Derealization for years (feeling like I am in a "fog" or in a "dream" all of the time) and have noticed feelings of Depersonalization over the past year or so (feeling like I am just staring at myself or floating outside of myself). I am undiagnosed, but have been dealing with various depression and anxiety symptoms for years. I am currently taking Cipralex, but am finding that the dose I am taking is not helping with all of my anxiety and depression symptoms (going to ask my doctor about this). Even though i'm used to feeling this way, it is still uncomfortable and affects my life in a lot of ways (especially socially because it makes me feel disconnected from other people and the world around me). I was wondering if anyone else here experiences this (I told a Psychologist about my "dream like" feeling and they seemed surprised and possibly like they weren't familiar with this particular symptom) and if so, if anyone knows of good ways to manage these symptoms.

Hello,

I can relate to you, because when I had a panic attack in january, I felt that way.

I hope you will find the help you need.

Hi glok, thanks for the link to the page about derealization/depersonalization. I would say given how often I experience it I definitely meet the criteria for that.

Hi perseverance11. Thank you, I hope you are as well. Like you, I find that
my feelings of depersonalization/derealization are worse during a panic attack
or during times of stress. I actually had a really bad panic attack(s) this January
also (it was really strange and i'm still not really sure why it happened- I had
racing thoughts, restlessness, insomnia, it was awful and lasted for over a week).
DP/DR is a really scary anxiety symptom.

Yeah, it is scary and I really don't like to feel that way.
