Welcome to PC.

I had not thought of loneliness and boredom going hand in hand with anxiety. I always think of it as related to my depression. I guess because my anxiety keeps me busy worrying about my anxiety...lol

Do you mean like social anxiety where you don't want to leave the house?

I dunno I try to distract myself to take my mind of things. Read, computer, TV. Probably not the best ways but they can work.

Anyone else relate and have ideas?

I'm lonely and bored right now. I can't seem to fall asleep. I never thought it had anything to do with anxiety. I am anxious about seeing y therapist tomorrow. I hate to drive by myself. Everyone in my house is asleep and I am the only on awake. I have to get up in a couple of hours.

That's a tough one, but a friend of mine gave me some great advice once. I had no desire to do what she told me to do, but I got so bored and so lonely I had no choice but to bust through my anxiety and do it. It might sound silly or even hard to do, but just get out and go to a store. Anywhere. If you can go to Target or even a drug store or convenience store, just go and roam around to get your mind off of things. Preferably at a place that isn't too busy if you're having social anxiety. See if you can look at someone and smile, even in the checkout lane. Just give yourself any reason to get out for a bit, even if it's just to buy a tube of toothpaste. It can be a short visit or a long visit. Let us know if you find some relief of your boredom and loneliness!
