Don't worry, pinksoil, I'm sure I'd be the same.

That's great you enjoyed the concert so much! Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week... I think they're getting another album out this year, so there's a chance they'll be touring...no idea if they'll come to Scotland if they do tour, but if they do I'll definitely try and get tickets. (Although I'm not sure if I'd be able to persuade any of my friends to go with me...) R.E.M is another 80s band I'd love to see...there was a concert not too far from here about 9 or 10 years ago, but I was too young to go. Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week...

I have - just made a post about it. Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week...

Another Scot! Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week... I'm in Perthshire, and the vast majority of buses around here are First...and it looks like they do give change. Still, that's worth knowing that buses in Glasgow and Edinburgh don't give change, thanks for telling me! Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week... Is there anywhere you can find out how much they'd cost before travelling? First's website is useless for that - all it says is to try and have exact money.

Thanks again. Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week...

You did it? Yay! I'm proud of you. I hope you're proud of yourself. How did it go? How do you feel? Do you think it will be easier next time now that you've done your first trip?

Thanks, Juliana! Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week... I am, actually, I'm glad I could do it. Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week... I made a post here about how it went. I hope next time will be easier - I know the price now, and I know that the bus does actually stop where I thought it would! Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week...

See??? I KNEW you could do this! I had faith in you Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week...

I'm so glad it went fairly well for you. As with anything in life, practice practice practice and you will feel more comfy with the whole thing! Keep up the great work!

On a side note, it's nice to meet a Scot from Perthshire here! My grands were from Dundee and Alyth. I was able to visit your area last October (2nd trip) and had a fabulous time. I even found the gravesite of a Great Uncle in Alyth! It was a wonderful trip and I can't wait to get back there again soon!

Hugsssssssss

Thanks, sabau, I'm glad too! Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week... I'll be taking it for the next few weeks, I think.

Oh, cool! Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week... I haven't been to Alyth before, but I've been to Dundee a few times, it's nice there.

Thanks, jinnyann. Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week... That's a very good idea - it's great knowing that it's not as bad as you thought it was going to be! (That's been the case 99% of the time with things I was scared of...I think too much beforehand. Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week...)

The only reason I'm ok with going on the train by myself is that I've been taking trains for years! It was only recently that I started going on them alone - before then I always had parents or friends with me. I doubt I'd be able to take a plane by myself either, but I've never had to find out.

Lucky you! I only saw two months of the 80s. I love "Rio" (that's where I got my name from Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week...) and "Save A Prayer" as well...my favourite song is "Ordinary World".

I did try going in chat once, but it took a long time to load...I'm don't really feel comfortable in chat rooms, anyway. I'm not quite sure why. Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week... I do try and check my PMs regularly, though. Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week...

"ended up getting off two stops early just in case. . ." Been there, done that :-)

Rio, did you get a map/schedule?

http://www.perthshire.com/NR/rdonlyr...ansportMap.pdf

I find if I have something to look at I'm calmer/better able to follow my progress, especially if there's a local map so I can read street signs out the window, etc. and better gauge where my stop is.

Glad it's not just me, Perna! Thanks for the map. Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week... I knew what stop I wanted to get off at - it's very close to my house - but at the stop I got off, I was the only one left on the bus and there was nobody waiting to get on, so I assumed that the bus driver was hinting that it was my turn to get off. Aah! T says I have to take the bus next week... (Especially as it looked like he was changing the sign on the front.) It was only about five minutes' walk from my house, so it wasn't a problem.
