I'm 22 years old, I have had anxiety/panic attacks since the age of 10. Starting to get derealization and losing emotion for people around me. I feel like a large burden to my family... and to everyone who has to deal with my disorder. I feel unsafe being alone and rely on company to make myself feel sane. Does anybody else get like this? My panic attacks are some of the worst panic attacks you could imagine i feel hopeless.

I relied on my daughter to take me shopping because of my panic disorder. then I developed a technique to stop the panic attacks and when I realized I could stop them, they went away all together. I haven't had one since.

I rely on being alone to feel sane. Having others around me only seems to magnify whatever I'm feeling. I feel very safe being alone, and very unsafe or on edge being around others. Both aren't good, because I can't expect to be alone forever, and you can't expect to be around someone else forever. Try to do things by yourself, more and more. Even little things like taking walks by yourself or going places to hang out by yourself, and if you feel unsafe, carry pepper spray or something with you as a safety precaution just to give yourself peace of mind. Learn to enjoy your own company, you can handle any situation and you are your own best friend. Even though it feels like you're safer with someone else, they can't physically protect you from anything necessarily, so just try to logically rationalize what you're actually afraid of and why you think having someone else with you makes you feel safer.
