I have been taking meds for anxiety and depression for about 7 months now. Been depressed for much longer than that but have been trying to control it myself. Changed my meds a month ago because of the side effects and the new meds are not working yet. Doctor said to give it another 3 weeks and if it is still not working she will up the dosage. Am having a very hard time. Work is very stressfull and I need to be on top of things and I am having a hard time just functioning. Am just feeling so low.

hi hang in there that'shat I'm doing, I am on meds now for 2 months for my anxiety and I have to say I still experience the odd physical symptoms like my heart it flutters or like last nite my heart was racing and I was watching T.V it pisses me off but I have had all sorts of tests and I'm fine just anxiety my doc tells me so I continue to take my meds for it and I guess the anxiety would be alot worse. They say it's highly treatable! we'll see.....but it does help to know that this forum has helped me big time just knowing I'm not alone suffering.....take care and god bless

Hello and welcome to Psych central.
It is really never a good idea to change or adjust meds yourself. Is it possible for you to make an appointment to see a therapist and Psychiatrist at this time? You possibly just ned amed adjustment or change at this time to help your depression and then you can feel better in time. I hope the best for you take care and good day Soidhonia

Stonegrow,
I'm sorry you're feeling alone.
If you're coming off meds than that could contribute to your feeling so low-if your new meds haven't kicked in yet.
I hope you feel better soon.
