I used to love Halloween. But these past few years I've gotten more and more creeped out as it approaches. All the horror movies advertised and scary decorations are creeping me out. Does anyone else feel this way?

I was never a huge fan, but I notice every year there are more creepy commercials and things to do. There is no way I'd ever put myself in a haunted forest or something like that. I'd probably end up punching someone in the face out of sheer terror.

I love halloween and autumn because I love all the new latte flavors like pumpkin spice and the changing fall leaves and all the pumpkins and fall colors. Just change the channel when a scary movie preview comes on. I have only seen one ad for a scary movie this year and it was on a youtube video. I barely watch tv these days. I don't see any halloween decorations out either, but even if I do I usually find them humorous because I think halloween decorations don't look real at all.

Thank you for your replies! Instead of commiserating with others that suffer from what I just found out is called Samhainphobia (it's real)... The fear of Halloween. I'm enjoying the positive outlooks of others. On the news they said people can suffer from panic attacks because of it and that's what's happening to me.

I have barely been watching TV except for Netflix. I'll skip past the horror movies and find some good comedies!

P.S. Should I post a new thread about Samhainphobia? I'd like to at least get it out there that it's real for some people and it can get serious.

Wow, I had no idea. But I think I'll follow your lead and watch some comedies until November 1st.

That link does not seem to work anymore.

Try fearof.net/fear-of-halloween-phobia-samhainophobia - Maybe someone else can make a link to that page? It says I need more posts to do so.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
