anybody else get anxiety about mental health conditions? I always freak out thinking I have all these different mental health issues, and the worst part is that I don't know if I do I've brought it up to my therapist but she always dismisses it but I can't stop thinking about them. I'm afraid that if i have something really serious that I'll never get better.

Hi rain,

Yes I've had this thought in the past.

And I would sit and google every possible symptom and self diagnose myself according to what Google said I must have.

It wasn't really healthy for me to do to be very honest.

I worried and obsessed about every little thing.

My personal advice is, if you think perhaps you are suffering from something, please see a medical practioner to put your mind at ease or give you some clarity.

I understand this thinking.

Because I have honestly done this too.

It is not very good for us.

I hope you are able to find some peace.

When you go to counseling they check to my sure which disorder that you have.im sure your therapist would let you know if she thought you had a serious mental health issue.I. have GAD and just GAD only. I was afraid of developing schzophenia or bipolar but that's unlikely to happen because Im over the age limit to develop these disorders and they are not in my Family.

I know the feeling! I bought my own copy and the DSM V and have almost read it all. My I asked my psychiatrist about some of the things I might have and she kinda blew it off. Angered me honestly. I definitely worry about it. Im scared of developing schizophrenia or some form of psychosis. Hallucinations sound really scary. I obsessed about it and would be pulling all-nighters researching diagnostic criteria for mental disorders and comparing them to me. If I were in your shoes I would keep bringing up the subjects to your therapist if you truly think you have something serious, she will eventually give you an answer. Hope this helps and best of luck ^_^
