battle inside, war going on
trying to relax, think of the sun
shining away, feeling warm
but butterflies battling - a huge swarm
want to sleep but there's no way
dreading tomorrow - the day
want to go to be assessed
get myself out of this mess.
also want to run away
into a dark room and stay.
let me speak freely, tell them what's wrong
where do i start, not feeling strong.
may my guardian angel hold my hand
he's my grandad in heavens land
wanting peace, needing sleep
but all i do is sit and weep.
feel isolated and very alone
in the comfort of my sanctuary home....
frightened, worried, hurting bad
please grandad be with me while i'm sad.
hold me in your arms again
stroke my hair rid me of pain
i know you're here i feel you close
you've always been the one i loved the best.
stay with me until i sleep
and wipe the million tears thatleak
from these eyes again tonight
i know you're here so hold me tight.

in memory of the best grandad in the world who i still miss and who i know is still with me in my hours of need.

i love you sweet grandad guthrie, please be with me tomorrow.

your poetry is beautiful and i'm sure your grandad is proud. they say the love we have for others is the only thing we can carry with us to the other side, so i'm sure your grandfather is there with you and comforting you just as you said. i am sending healing thoughts your way and hope things look up soon.

thankyou so much for you kind words. it helps me to write. i will never get over my grandads death, just learn to live with it. i still talk to him. he's with me i know it.
