One of my biggest triggers right now is a headache I've been having. I've read and heard that anxiety itself causes headaches. I'm wondering if people that have experienced this could describe it. I mean, would you be able to describe the headache your'e getting? Your pain level, where your'e having pain, how long it lasts. And do meds (tylenol, other..) help? I guess I'm hoping to find out that this headache is just caused by my anxiety.. and not to worry. Thank you.

Yes; I have anxiety headaches (as I refer to them). I use to have them more often and more severe before medication, which helped me a lot. I guess I'll tell you my experience before and after medication.

Before:

This would be moderate to severe pain. I couldn't concentrate with these ones, but I could still function better than migraines I think. My pain was usually a tension headache, so it happened in the front of my head (forehead), but occasionally one side of the head. These usually lasted 3 hours or so. Terrible. I never tried medication for these headaches because of fear that people in my life would be mad at me for them.

After:

These are mild to moderate pain. Not bad at all, just annoying. These are also tension headaches, equally in the front and one side. These probably last 1-2 hours, and headache medicine works for me. I know someone that medication doesn't work for them.

Hope this helps Types of headaches associated with anxiety .
