I am going to pass this by my GP in an email just to see how she responds. But I think that if it affects serotonin it scares me. I am just feeling this instinct that I shouldn't have anything that affects serotonin levels.

It seems to me that just because you had an adverse affect from one SSRI that it does not mean that you would not be able to tolerate a different one.

Agreed. But I don't want to experiment. I have heard the stories of people being on several that didn't work. I also don't want to have issues with coming off. I really feel these drugs are less than optimal. As well, my whole story is that I wanted something for anxiety and there are drugs for that but they are not being prescribed as readily as SSRIs. You have to understand my reaction to the SSRI was extreme. The elevation in anxiety was one of the worst things I have ever experienced at the hands of the medical profession. I am not going to trust their experimentation.

Well, I sure hope something works out for you. In my case I deal with depression, anxiety, and terrible self esteem.
