Hi Ive been going through withdrawal and a very high anxiety episode for 8 weeks now. In the last few days Iv started to get a really strange symtom thats freaking me out. - If I do any activity (move around house clean etc) I get what feels like a spinning sensation at the top of my head like its spinning off. Also a nerve like pain over my left side of my head that seems to happen at same time. Ive tried to catch it before it gets too bad by lying down and doing breathing/relaxation exercises.
Has anyone else had this - is it a symtom of high anxiety? Also I got really weak today for no reason. Any help would be appreciated. W |

Bob,
The vertigo you describe is something that I can relate to and can be caused by a number of things. For example, anxiety would be one of them, medication withdrawal another, blood pressure changes, or even a problem within the inner ears. However, it would be wise to get this checked out by a doctor (not just a pdoc) in order to try to pinpoint the causation. Hang in there, hun... I know this is rather unnerving to go through. *hugs Bob tight* |

hi thanks for replies - i did have a nasty bout of viral labyrinthitis (viral vertigo) that im assured will not return. I had an MRI and there was no damage from the virus at all. Having the virus made me sooo frightened of being dizzy and im thinking that now its incorporated into my anxiety list of symtoms. |

just coincidentally noticed "superior canal dehiscence" when I was researching wound dehiscence -- it says that
a new window can open in the labyrinth of the inner ear and result in a feeling of vertigo {I found that activity, exercise was helpful - if I would go out and shovel the snow for example, there would be some relief - maybe it was the distraction? maybe it was the circulation?} all the best to you |
