No, for me personally, I got waaaaaaay better at handling it as I get older. I still am, for specific things, but far fewer stuff makes me scared than when I was younger. I learnt more coping strategies too. My middle age is a million times less anxious than my younger years.

I read anxiey stories and many people said that as they grew older, they had less anxiety, they went to therapy and found coping skills, they understood their issue. But I think the anxiety doesn't automatically gets better, like one day you wake up at 30 years old and say "I don't feel anxious anymore!". The anxiety gets better because year after year, you go to different therapists, you find many coping skills, you expose yourself to situations. In this way you can collect a bunch of tools that can decrease anxiety as time passes.

Despite many years of good therapy and medications, in my 50's my anxiety became extremely severe. Trileptal seems to help lessen the anxiety some, but I struggle with it constantly now. My anxiety was always bad, but unfortunately as I've aged it is much worse. At least, so far.

I didn't have major anxiety until my late 40s, when I started menopause. I'm starting to get better now, but it took quite a few years before I was stable again, and with a lot of medication.

My anxiety has gotten worse with age. Part of that is that I don't have full control of my life. I used to go to work - which I really can't do anymore - and I had control of all the details regarding it. I had a nice little apartment, and my beloved cat, and life was actually good. But I've lost all of that since a long time ago and my anxiety has risen and risen and risen.

My anxiety has become more generalized as I get older, but I think it has a lot to do with my current living situation as, I find that when I travel or become very involved in things around me, it is MUCH BETTER.
