hey, i've been struggling with a lot of anxiety problems recently and it affects my life in so many point and one of them is my friends. i always felt rejected by my friends, even if they show interests in me, i can't help but feel like they hate me and don't wanna be with me. i avoid them and i can't answer their texts because i'm too scared. there are some moments where i'm gonna feel very sad when thinking about my friends and wishing i could hang out with them without feeling anxious and other where i just can't bare them, i can't stand being with them, it's almost like i hate them. i'd like to know if someone feels the same way i do and is it normal to feel like this? thank you for reading (and sorry my english, i'm not english speaking)
Hugs from:

Did you talk about it to your therapist? I have similar feeling, and I thought I'm just extreme introvert, but my therapist told me it's social anxiety and treatable with GAD. Don't worry about your English. I'm also not native in English, but people here are nice

I'm not really seeing someone for my anxiety, I went to the family physician after a lot of panic attacks so she presumed I was someone very anxious, but we never really had a serious conversation about how this anxiety is affecting my life and if it was a disorder, I'm not treated for it... So I don't really know how I can bring this up...

If I were you, I would try to see a therapist. Your doctor may have good referral, or you may find someone online. You don't need to tell detail to your doctor. All you need is simply ask him/her to refer you to a therapist. If you cannot see anyone, online counseling may be your second choice.

I'm the same way. Since I was DX'ed with anxiety and bipolar 12 years ago. I avoid people at all costs. I haven't hung out with a friend in years. Lately I've come to reading about "avoidant personality" and it fits me perfectly. But the thought of interacting with people outside texting terrifies me. Really.

I'd agree on seeing a therapist. I'm so happy I did. It gave me great insight as to how my mind works and what was triggering my anxiety.

I'll try to find a way to do that, I need to ask my parents first so... it won't be easy...

I haven't hung out with my friends for a long time too... It's a vicious circle: I'm scared to interact with them but I'm also scared of how they'll react if I don't talk/hang out with them...
