I sometimes take hydroxizine... it converts into the same thing as Zyrtec. It's the only antihistamine I can really take, those two.

I've gotten a few hydroxyzine from a friend as I'm a bad insomniac. I felt so good laying in bed that night. And when I had to go to the ER for a panic attack on Christmas Day and she asked if I ever tried Benadryl to calm me down? I had to laugh because Benadryl won't touch my attacks but that vistaril worked great and I'm actually thinking of talking to my pdoc about it.
Thanks for this!

I take Vistaril along with Neurontin for anxiety. It helps for the most part.

I've taken Benadryl a few times for anxiety. Not sure how well it helped but it did help me rest well.

I use Benadryl to go to sleep when I'm having a bad day and I know I wont be able to sleep otherwise. It works great for me.

I've taken Benadryl for anxiety. I have histamine problems where my body produces too much histamine and that in turn makes me anxious. I have to avoid histamine causing foods like tomatoes and onions. (Lol salsa is a no-go and gives me horrendous histamine reactions as you can guess!)
