hi how is everyone doing....I just went cold turkey 7 days ago, I was taking 50mg of zoloft once a day for 9 months and my doc said stay on it for 9 days and if you have no other episodes we will take you off ( was diagnosed with generalized anxiety ) well there is a few reason's I decided to quit...I was supposed to see my G.P Dr. and re-evaluate my situation, but I missed my appt. then I go and phone and find out she left the country for a year (Iknew she was going) I have 1 month left of my perscription and decided to quit : 1) it's expensive 2) I did research on the net about Zoloft withdrawl and did not like what I read. These past 9 months I noticed my increase in alcohol it was becoming a problem and they did a study on this and it happened to me Zoloft makes you want to drink especially if you already do. I have become a very lazy person, my whole person has changed and not for the good, I just noticed a personality change and this did not happen until a few days ago since I've been off this med, it's like I woke up. It started off well enough it just became a gradual thing. The past 6 months my hubby and I have not slept in the same bed and it was because my hubby said it was not you, we argued all the time and now he says you have bben off the med we have slept in the same bed. I cried when I relized the person I had become. My withdrawl symptoms are not to bad just some dizziness and some vertigo little nausea and vomited in the beginning but I hope it just gets better. I was so scared I created a whole new problem with taking drugs, I was not told by my doc of the withdrawl and what I would have to go thru....never again. Has anybody else have a personality change that was not positive?

yes, it is well known that zoloft withdrawal makes you feel like crap.
the best way is to take 25mg every day for a week
then the next week take 25mg every second day, then stop

Honestly, I think any withdrawal from anxiety meds is hard.
