Last year, around this time, I suffered a lot from anxiety because of my intrusive thoughts, but I recovered because 1. summer break was over so I was too busy to worry and 2. I went to see a therapist. Summer break has now started, which means I don't really do much except play video games and work out (sometimes). However, one week I decided to take a break from working out routine and saw a horror film with my friends. I'll admit, the horror film scared, so I didn't get a good night's sleep that night. I noticed that when I was tired my anxiety went up. That night, I was anxious about being a sadist, something that doesn't usually make me feel anxious. The next day, although I wasn't worried about being a sadist, I was still anxious for some reason, especially during the late afternoon. But I don't know why I was anxious. I'm still anxious for no reason. I'm not super anxious, but I don't want to keep staying anxious for no reason. Has this happened to anyone? What do you think caused it? How should I stop it? Thank you in advance.

Maybe the movie made you feel this way. Im not sure what else it could be. I hope you feel better. And if it helps I think you are probably not a sadist.

It's nice to know I don't feel alone! I often wake up in the morning feeling anxious or just not quite right and not happy but I have no idea why. Even today I feel like that but have no idea why :/ I am interested to see what other people have to say aswell to help this because it sucks

There IS a reason we feel anxious (or feel all of our feelings).

There is are reasons for being anxious but it's not always obvious. Do you have coping techniques you could use when you get anxious or can you distract yourself? Best wishes.

I've also noticed that I usually feel anxious if I'm bored or tired. Maybe I feel anxious because I'm worrying about something subconsciously? And its good to know I'm not the only one to feel this way!

Is there a way to stop this anxiety? The thing I'm going through seems to be GAD. Should I see my therapist again?
