I have a much needed appointment tomorrow.
As much as I enjoy the end result, going to the hairdresser always causes me much anxiety.

The mirrors!!!!!!!!!!

The hairdryers - that constant droning noise .........

The strange hands touching me! (And to add to my anxiety - I have had to change hairdressers and will be visiting this new one for the first time)

The mirrors! Going to the hairdresser tomorrow ... Going to the hairdresser tomorrow ...

Oh, and did I mention all that noise?

Please keep me in your thoughts!

Thanks for this!

Hello (((SABRINA))). Try to take a headset or something to distract you from the situation tomorrow and try not to think yourself into an anxiety attack before you leave if at all possible. Take someone with you to help you stay focused if you can. Take care Sabrina. soidhonia

Thank you Soidhonia. I don't have anyone to take with me but I do have my MP3 player that I take to gym, and the appointment is right after gym! I never thought of that - thanks for the great tip!

I also delibirately made the appointment for just after gym so that I could "work off" any anxiety!

(((Sabrina))) Going somewhere new for the first time is scary, especially if it's something you're already anxious about - you're being very brave. After the first time, though, it can only get easier. Going to the hairdresser tomorrow ...

I don't have any advice to offer (other than agreeing with Soidhonia's suggestion), but - good luck! Going to the hairdresser tomorrow ...

Thank you Rio. The salon is right next to the gym that I have been attending since June - so I guess I have had much opportunity to view things from the outside. (It took this long to build up the courage to make the appointment though).

The salon looks fairly quiet on most days - that should help a lot.

Just to let you know that all went ok. I suffered little anxiety (mostly when my hair was being washed). I was the only one in the salon so it was quiet!

And I just refused to look in the mirror until the end.

So, all's good.
