This started happening 6 months ago. For some reason when it's night time I feel scared and Disturbed when I'm at home and this only happens when I'm at home at night nowhere else I can be outside at night I can be at someone else's house at night and I feel perfectly fine. I only feel it when I'm at home. so as soon as it's night I stay in my room because I'm scared to go downstairs. I have no idea what's scaring me I've tried going over in my mind but I can't come up with anything. I have no idea why this started 6 months ago so I'm hoping someone here can help me out so I can get to the bottom of this.

Do you live alone? You could keep a log for a few days and try to capture the thoughts that immediately precede the fear. Once you have these thoughts captured then you'll have something to work with. I hope you get this resolved soon. Sending big hugs.

I had anxiety attacks and fear of leaving my room years ago. I was alone. My problem was I could hear little noises and I didn't know what they were.

Eventually, I got used to the noises because nothing bad ever happened, and I got over it. It was terrible to go through

Hi Cplus ,
If you would be so kind as to reply " do you live alone ? " , we would have something to work with , but if you choose not to say , hey thats OK !!. ![]() What about a night light ? I leave a nightlight on in my kitchen , just so I don`t stub my toe !! ![]() For those with Phobic Anxiety , fears can be elevated at night anyways , however they should not keep you awake or place a burden on you not to leave your room. If a nightlight is not possible , you could take a flashlight to bed with you !! , then if you wake up a little nervous you can turn on your flashlight. In any event , welcome and please know we are here to help. "The strongest wall in the world will topple without the slightest support. " Ref.: G.S.I. Take care , ![]() Keyplayer ![]() |

Hey guys sorry for the late reply! No I don't live alone but for the past 2 days I forced myself to stay in my basement alone with the light off for an hour. First day I was scared out of my mind for 30 minutes but then It got so much easier and I asked myself what's there to be afraid of? and today I did it again and for the first few minutes I was kind of terrified but after that it was pretty much normal. I guess exposure therapy is helping me with this I'm actually watching TV in my basement as I type this thanks for the replies!
