Oh man. Lately I've been in a state of panic. . On this post, people were saying that there might be a false flag event with North Korea. I am so terrified of this. How likely is it that we get into a war with North Korea? I'm so scared of nuclear bombings. I'm very young, only 19. I have a full life ahead of me and I'm now paranoid that I might not have much longer. I don't know how to stop thinking about this because it's constantly on my mind. I want to be able to live my life enjoyably in a better world. I want to improve society. I have so many worries. Please take the time to comment on this, I'm really in need of some different opinions. Is the world permanently screwed, or is there still hope left ? I will attach the image of the post I saw below.

Please keep replies to this about the anxiety and fear not about any of the politics.
Thank you!

Hello. Welcome to PC. I’m sorry you are having a tough time. As the administrator said, there are things I can’t talk about but I think anywhere there is life, there is hope. Have you considered seeing a therapist? All of this anxiety is bad for you and it serves no useful purpose. Does your anxiety change this issue even one tiny bit? It’s better to live a fully engaged, fulfilled life in spite of this. Please seek help. I totally empathize. Sending big hugs and hoping you come to a place of peace and calm.

You're certainly not alone in feeling that way. I was talking to a 71-year-old friend who remembers diving under his desk in school as part of a nuclear bomb drill in the 1950's - & we're still here. He said, however, that he's as afraid now as he was then. While I'll admit the situation is frightening, we should try to be mindful & focus on matters in front of us that we can enjoy & control. I'm trying to live in the now. I hope you can find some peace.

Welcome to psych central if I were you I would avoid watching the news. My psych doc actually wrote "no news" on a prescription pad and handed it to me. Statistically the world is less violent than it ever has been. It's just that we're all overwhelmed by the hysterical new media. Remember bad news sells. It's all about getting those advertising dollars.

I subscribe to a feed on my Facebook from a group called goodnews.org. It keeps me informed of all the good things that are happening in the world. And believe it or not there are actually a lot of good things and good people in the world

If you find that you can not shake this anxiety, like that others said, I would go see a therapist to help you get out of this anxiety loop.

Hi Who_AM_I 101 ,

Like everyone was so kind to point out , just don`t watch the news , hang with us instead !!

We each have our views as far as politics and folks around here have some ruff seas , so we like to avoid that subject because there are so many views and it would be easy to get lost in the mix , so to speak. But yeh , I hear you , it is a rational fear , it is unlikely to happen , however we do live in strange time to be sure !!

But to be honest , I plan to post next week , just a post or a reply , nothing special.

So , we will be A-OK and I have a feeling you will be to.

Now , the best thing I can think of for you is to grab a snack and post or reply.

We have some of the greatest folks on the web here , and I can`t lie , really , ask anyone !!

Take care , and be on the lookout for that post or reply next week , OK !!

Later

Keyplayer.
