I’m getting tired of this problem where I’m anxious from a dream right before waking.

I ended up sending dumb emails because I was anxious upon waking and not thinking clearly yet.

Anyway, it’s been going on so long now I can’t remember when it started.

Anyone else with this?

During 2016, when I was dealing with some trauma in therapy, I would wake up every morning for a while knowing my extreme anxiety was caused by anxious dreams (but usually not remembering the details of the dream--I tend to remember more details towards the end of an ordeal/anxious period). I would wake up with a severe panic attack and sometimes it would take hours for it to settle down. I don't know if this describes any of your anxious feelings in the morning or not....

Sometimes my dreams are disturbing and I wake up quite stressed and anxious...and then to get past that, I carefully and methodically sort the thoughts and feelings to cull the irrational ones and get back to dealing relatively well with reality.

I get night terrors sometimes. Where I run down the hall screaming.

It happens when I am dealing with stress. In May, I saw a very disturbing scene in the movie Reserver Dogs And I had a night terror less then 2 hours later.

I just wake up really anxious and scared. It happened at 6:30 Friday morning because I was anxious about my dentist appointment at 8:30.

Sometimes I just wake up scared out of my mind with my heart pounding without having any bad dreams.

I think that usually happens when I take a sleeping pill.

Yes, sometimes it takes a few hours for me to settle down. Occasionally I wake up thinking I’m having a heart attack, it is so bad.

I already have a cpap—so it is not sleep apnea

I’ve done this too—screaming, dragging my late husband out of bed to save him from the monster—he said you can’t get used to that.

Yeah...It’s hard for me to sort out what is real sometimes. Some of them are recurring, making them seem even more real, provoking a great deal of anxiety.
