Hello,

My anxiety has been getting worse, to the point where I feel like an emotional wreck right now. It's so stressful worrying that something will go wrong all of the time, and it sucks being anxious 24/7 because I just want some relief. My next Psychiatrist appointment is on November 16th, and it just seems so far away I want to be better.

I’m sorry you’re having a tough time. Do you take medication for your anxiety? I know first hand how debilitating it can be. I hope the 16th gets here quickly for you.

I'm in a similar situation right now. I don't know when my psychiatrist will have time for me. All I can say is: Hang in there, maybe try to distract yourself.
It's going to be okay.

Anxiety is never easy to deal with. As Jennifer mentioned, anti-anxiety meds can help during those very intense times.

Have you tried any other self-help tools for coping with anxiety such as exercise, meditation, deep breathing, listening to relaxing music, taking a hot bath, reading, etc? Medication can definitely help during those intense times but there are many things you can do to ease the anxiety if meds are not available to you.

I am currently taking Risperidone and Remeron. The Risperidone is for my psychotic symptoms from Depression, and the Remeron is to help my insomnia and Depression. I was on Celexa for 2 months but recently it started making me feel worse, so I stopped taking that. The Psychiatrist said she wanted to tackle the Depression before the anxiety, because at the time it seemed like the Depression was worse than the anxiety, but now they're both terrible.

I keep trying to distract myself, because I know if my brain is focused on something, then it is harder to start worrying about things. It just sucks because I'm a college student, and I can't just distract myself all day long because I have to go to lectures, eat, and things of that nature. Trying to distract my mind as much as possible. Just counting the days until my next appointment.

I did some exercise Wednesday night, and I felt great overall directly following it. I enjoy listening to music, it's just that sometimes music irritates my anxiety for some reason, so that can be distressing. I also enjoy reading, but it's sometimes harder to concentrate on the reading.

I was on Busiprone for two weeks, but it did not help me at all so I was taken off of it.
