so,

my favorite store as a child is closing down (pretty soon actually, they are doing the clearance sale as we speak), and I really have to be a part of the closure- I have a thing.. end is one of my triggers, and when something ends- no matter what (even if I don't like it), I need to be a part of it.

this is extra special: it's my favorite store

well, I don't live near it anymore (sadly), and their is no way I can get to it before it closes.

what I want to know is... how can I be a part of it's closure without actually being their?

I know if I'm not a part of it, I'll feel like I've failed and I'm not complete

Are they selling things online? Maybe that's one way you could participate.

You can create your own closing ceremony with a friend.

Do you have a cellphone?

You could find a picture of it online and snap a picture of it. Then post it here on the forum along with your memories of it.

Or some variation of this (draw a picture, find an object you would have purchased there).

You could send a card to the store. They probably have to receive mail for a while to receive final bills.

That is such a good idea - when I know something is soon to disappear, I'll take a photograph, or make a souvenir, so that in that way at least, it lives on.
