I could stop thinking that everyone is staring at me and judging me. I wish it was a switch in my head and I could just turn it to the off position. Argh!!! Social phobia sux especially when I'm going back to school in less than a month.

Vent, vent, vent.
We'll listen, listen, listen.

I wish we could do more for you. I'm sure therapy will help too.

(((((((((((((((Tina)))))))))))))))

My T said that I was "paranoid" ... hmmm I wish I wish I wish
Maybe he was right in part but he was an &^%^$ ... I think CBT is the best therapy for Social Phobia. (My T *tried* to do a poor relation of psychoanalysis with insults I wish I wish I wish with me) Keep posting and good luck with your therapist! I wish I wish I wish

Take care,
Fuzzy

your therapist called you paranoid? What an @#$%$#&^%
sorry about that fuzzy, no one deserves that from someone who is supposed to be a "safe" support. Jeez.

Granted ive only gone once to my t,but he said i was assuming a lot. I said you didnt notice how tall i was when we first met? He said he did notice,but the assumption is on that i thought he would think negative things about me because of that. Which kind of made sense.

Im very social phobic as well,if i have to go out i try to go out late at night. My gfs daughters are always bringing strangers in the house and it drives me crazy. I hide in my room til they leave. It takes me months and months to trust new people. But when that finally happens they are accepted and i can not look at them as strangers. Leaving the house is always a big deal and is very hard for me as well.

Hope this helps so you know you arnt alone as i feel that way a lot,but a lot less than i used to since i found this site.

(((Angel)));
I used to be one of the most outgoing person anyone would meet. I was the "life of the party". I had so many friends, I didnt have a spare minute. Now I am totally opposite. I do not like being in large groups or crowds. I think everyone is watching me; like they know all the bad doings in my life. I can appreciate what you are going through. I agree that therapy can definetly help you overcome some of your worries. Take it slow and things will come for you. It is great to see that you are working on this and able to talk about it here.

I wish you luck with this; you will do wonderfully. Keep your head up!!

sorry angel... there are some basic medications that ease these feelings... anxiety is a terrible thing to try and live with... have you had these feelings very long?
