The loneliness is getting to me too. I don't get out much normally, but if it weren't for the pandemic I would have done more. My sister got into an argument with me over Covid-19. She claimed it was a hoax to get Trump out of office. She said she was going to do what she wanted and that she'll be just fine. I didn't argue that with her. It's her belief. I just said I was going to stay home where it's safe. Then she accused me of wanting people to be out of work over a hoax. I had enough and said she was listening to a bunch of red necks. She hung up and blocked me. Haven't heard from her since. I don't think she will ever talk to me again. She was pretty cruel to me for the most part. It's nicer not listening to her put me down all the time.

So there are lockdowns all around the world to get Trump out of office?

I read something about conspiracy theorists that may help people understand the psychology behind it. Apparently some people have a strong need to have certain reasons and answers for things - they have trouble accepting 'there is no one answer/reason' so they are highly susceptible to conspiracy theories because of this need.

Wow, Deilla, sorry to read that about your sister. I think you might be better off if she doesn't want to talk to you. Hugs! I know one of those conspiracy theorist, Bill Gates wants to put a chip in you types. Ugh.
I am having a definite quarantine fatigue day. I actually wrote down all the maneuvering we have to do just to get food and supplies delivered since we STILL can't get the car fixed. It was over a page. Facing probably at least 4 weeks more of this is exhausting just to think about. |

Yes, and you can't reason with her either. It's beyond my comprehension.

Thanks Deilla. We just need to get moved into phase 2 and we can take it to the mechanic. But, I don't know when that will finally happen. I hope locking down the area to the south of us will help get the numbers down. They were better and then started to move in the wrong direction again.
The problem with the car is that it overheats after being driven for a while. Like you can get to the store but then it doesn't want to start to go back home. The guy who towed it said it looks like it's an issue with the ignition coil. So. we should be able to drive it to the mechanic without a problem. |

We are into restrictions again in this area from tonight which I am sad but resigned quietly to.
I just met up with some people I hadn't seen for a long time so glad I got that in. |

Quarantine was renewed for another week. The government is releasing more information about testing, positivity rates, etc. Again, there are places in phase 3 opening with worse numbers than my area. We are actually doing a lot of tests for a relatively small population. I kind of feel like we are being screwed over because of being proactive with testing. We did more tests last week than downtown Santiago did the week before they were transitioned out of lockdown. Downtown Santiago has 5 times our population! Areas that probably should not have been let out of lockdown are seeing spikes in cases, which doesn't surprise me at all.
Hopefully, the lockdown here will at least help us avoid a big spike after the upcoming Independence Day holiday. |

That sucks, rechu! Fingers crossed you get out of lockdown soon.
I feel bad now because we really don't have it that bad over here.....But I wish more people I knew IRL would admit to finding it hard. Because I feel very alone with my struggling. It's like life is just going on as normal for everyone else but I'm stuck at home with nothing to do. |

Thanks @BreakForTheLight!
Well, the latest epidemiological report shows our area having a significant decline in active cases per population - an over 30% decline. There was this one day that it really spiked, over 28 new cases in one day from when they did a big testing event. So, that got off the books since that was a few weeks ago. Pretty much every area with the active cases around our now is at least in phase two (phase 1 is quarantine). So, I really hope that the numbers continue like that on the next report. If that happens, they almost have to transition us out. If it doesn't I will be very suspicious. |

In the US, there is so much political controversy around the pandemic that it is disturbing. And the scientists are saying things are getting worse while the president keeps saying things are getting better. His message is don't social distance and don't wear a mask. It's evident in his political rallies. I saw him saying the governor won't come after you for not wearing a mask and laughing.. And everyone there was going against the guidelines. He just doesn't care. It makes me sad. I really have to let it go. I just need to worry about myself. I have no control over others. I haven't been anywhere in over a week. I don't even sit outside. It's getting to me.

You are right I think, it's best to do what you can to keep yourself safe and filter out the other stuff. It's all we can do. Practicing good self care is important too. Being in nature is helpful I find if you are lucky enough to have a park nearby. Failing that listening to sounds of nature - sea/trees/birds on YouTube. |

It's been a few months now that we've been doing rotating office shifts and every time I have to be at the office, my anxiety sky rockets for pretty much the entire week. It's probably to do with the fact that I haven't established any routine. I started this job in home office and I'm still working from home 2 weeks out of 3.
So this one week at the office is just like a week I have to get through, that's outside of my normal routine. And there's no upside to it. It's not like during that week I get to talk to my coworkers, have some social time at the office.... it's just a job I'd rather not do in a mostly deserted office. |

Before the pandemic I was really good at hiding my anxiety in public. Like I’d be having a panic attack and no one would know because I’d be hiding it so well. Now I can’t hide it no matter how hard I try. It’s like people mostly health care people just can tell that I’m very anxious. It’s kinda annoying. I fool with my hands a lot.

Well, finally yesterday we got the news that we were waiting for. We move to phase 2 (transition) next week. With that, we can go out during the week with no permit. There's still a curfew and weekends you are supposed to stay home, with just one permit to go out. I guess that is to keep people from having parties. Small gatherings are permitted - up to 10 inside and 20 outside during the week. Masks are still required. I guess those are the main rules. I am just happy I can start taking walks again, fix the car and get our dog his vaccine.

We are now under tighter restrictions, it's now illegal to meet indoors with someone from another household, you can visit a pub or restaurant but mustn't meet anyone else there. It's quite an odd set of contradictory instructions.
I am lucky I live with 2 others so always have company. I think there is going to be another deterioration in wellbeing amongst many particularly elderly. I feel angry that the behaviour that landed us in here (crowded pubs and bars) was not tackled and effectively ignored until the inevitable happened. Those of us who lived life carefully and cautiously are now paying and the government are predictably pointing their fingers at the public. |

I am hoping that the virus won't affect christmas, and that the country won't have to face another national lockdown.
honestly, it could go either way at the moment: cases are rising in certain parts of the country (and the government is trying local lockdowns in those areas), but the prime minister admitted this week that he was confused himself about the restrictions (because they are constantly changing), and that the country is in for a bumpy time over christmas and beyond. honestly, it would help if people just followed the rules. but so many people don't over here (don't socially distance, wear masks) etc. of course we're in a mess |

I'm very worried. It seems the worst figures in infections in Europe is taking place in Spain, and I don't see the people who have to take the decisions are doing it in time, neither following the researches that have been made and add to this a combat between the Central State(Presidential) and the Communities (territories as German landers).
As Spain is mainly a tourist country, this Summer were taken many risks. We seem unable to learn from other countries and we are again into the swamp.

@azul well maybe Spain should've kept its borders closed for tourists but that would've been disastrous to the economy. All the tourists who came over to party are just as much to blame, as are their countries for allowing it.
I'm pretty sure Christmas is cancelled for me. My current home has declared almost my entire home country a high risk area. My home town is still in the clear but who knows what it'll be like in December. And my area of the city I live is also high risk.... even if my home country doesn't close down for travel from my city, I wouldn't want to risk bringing anything home to my family. I went over in summer when numbers were a lot better. |

We should have closed our border since we saw our cousin, Italy, living such a crisis but we didn't in time and there was much to ask for this Summer.
The country you are living seems to be doing things well, maybe the capital is at more risk like is happening here with Madrid. Wish soon a vaccine will be available. Here, there are many people who are even reluctant to the vaccine. They are afraid. @Break, at least, I hope we can learn things out of all of this and many things change.

The city trump visited just before getting sick is having a rise in cases. Overall my state is holding steady. Schools and things like theaters and bars depend on what the stats are. The governor has things under control and counties are open or limited by how successful they are at following protocol. My country is doing better now. We were 10th overall most infectious but people got better and we’ve fallen to 16th. This is a top ten list nobody wants to be on. They just limited opened grade school while middle school and high school are still virtual. Mum and I are not doing Halloween or thanksgiving and probably not Christmas.
