I have panic disorder. Last visit, my pdoc suggested I use a SAD lamp to help with anxiety. I've always heard of lamps helping for seasonal depression, but can they help anxiety?

Anyone use a SAD lamp for anxiety & if so, does it help?

I’ve thought about it, and I too would be interested to hear from anyone who’s using one.

At the moment I try and go outside as soon as I get up, with the aim to get at least 15 minutes of daylight, and then try and get as much daylight as I can in the first third of the day.

I also take vitamin D, which I think does help my mood.

Well, I ordered one to give it a try on the pdoc's advice....I will report my results here once I figure out how to use it.

My daughter has one. She uses it like a prn though. When there’s grey dark days. She said that using it everyday was hard because it gave her anxiety to use it daily but it perked her up on dark days.
