I'm just finishing up the most stressful and anxiety ridden week I can remember lately. I've been one big ball of tension and worry this week and nothing is calming me down.

And on top of the worry, just really crappy things happened this week. Is it the anxiety and worrying that attracts the negativity or do those things create the anxiety?? Guess that's the age-old question - like was it the chicken or the egg that came first...

Weird thing is that a lot of my co-workers said the same thing this week. One commented that there is a full moon and that's why they thought things were messed up.

So what do you think? Has it been an overly anxious and stressful week for others? If so, do you think it's routine or a result of the moon or something else? Part of me wants to believe the moon theory because that means it will be over soon.

Isn't it odd how much anxiety our minds can create? Feels kind of like throwing fuel on a fire at times...

there are plenty of theories about the moon and it s effect on certain things....the ocean tides for example.....my week has been somewhat more anxiety ridden than usual too...so maybe there is a
connection

then again there are people who still believe the earth is flat...

I fully believe that the phase of the moon can have an affect on our bodies. If it has the strength to affect the ocean tides...why not the strength to affect humans and animals alike?

I have worked in nursing homes and seen first hand how the phases of the moon affect residents. All the workers would gear themselves up for those weeks as they always proved to be difficult times.

I can say too that this week has been especially stressful and anxiety filled in my world too. I'll be glad when it lets up and can get back to feeling better soon! Hope you do too Increased Anxiety - Effects of the Moon???

I don't think it's the moon. The moon has too much trouble with tides of huge oceans, nevermind itty bitty people wandering around, mostly inside.

Perna, I agree. The full moon was once a time of celebration - and like most things of that era, other things have superimposed them purposely with the idea that they are bad or negative.
"All the workers would gear themselves up for those weeks as they always proved to be difficult times."
What we create in our minds manifest in our lives - it has been proven time and time again. So, if you think the moon has such sway over you, indeed it shall be so.
Rest easy, all, this too shall pass.

I've seen a cause and effect of the full moon. When things don't seem to be making sense, I'll check and yes, full moon.

It sid efinitely an interesting topic. As humans, many of us like to believe we have control of our own emotional health and don't believe in environmental influences like windy days contributing to headaches, barometric pressure on migraines, and moon phases on depression and anxiety. I believe in environmental influences, but the academic environment doesn't like to support such notions and don't study it much. It is a pity that our scientific world can be so narrowminded at times.

I understand what you are saying Kira....and in many ways I agree with your statement sometimes we can sway how things work in our lives...and if we think negatively, we receive negatively and vice versa.

I have done a lot of tracking of full moon phases both in the nursing home I worked in and also at the newspaper I worked at for 18 years.....customer service was a huge part of my work there. I can say without a shadow of a doubt...the full moon does indeed play into how people acted out. I also tracked how my fellow employees acted/reacted during those times and during times without the full moon influence. I know my tracking was not of the scientific realm, but it was good enough to convince me of my thoughts and ideas regarding the full moon.

Oh, and I also have seen where barometric pressure will also cause humans and animals to act out of the ordinary also.

Of course we all have our own opinions...and we are all entitled to them... Increased Anxiety - Effects of the Moon???
