This is my last night at home before I start a new chapter in my life in college, and (anxiety disorder aside), I'm a little nervous. However my school has an excellent anxiety clinic where I will be attending cognitive behavioral therapy and I am more hopeful about the future than I have been in quite some time. However, college will bring a whole host of new experiences, which also means new anxiety. I guess I'm just writing to get some support as I make this transition.

Oh tacoma16, hugs for you!!! Leaving for college is such a wonderful and frightening thing and you are in for a treat. Clearly you have already made plans to keep yourself taken care of, so you are already ahead of the game. I'm not sure if you're going to a school where you already know people, but if not, just remember that everyone else is new too and their nerves will be a little unsettled just like yours. I think the thing I loved most about going off to college was that it was a fresh start and I could be whomever I wanted. Best wishes to you. Keep us posted on how you're doing.

Tacoma,
I hope that college is a wonderful experience for you. I know that people tell you this but it is true. College is the best years of your life. I met some awesome people and did some wonderful things. Just remember to take care of yourself and that classes are important, but your health is more important.
You are going to talk to us still right?

Jessica

Oh to be going off to college ! It is certainly a stressful time but it's also a time of growth, learning and having a little fun never hurt. It's hard at first, but eventually when you get used to things I'm sure it'll all be fine. You are lucky they have an anxiety clinic on campus. Take Care and GOOD LUCK!!!!!
