Well I had that week or so of severe depression...then the next week I was unable to get out of bed until later in the day but felt good emotionally...this past week has been filled with like this undercurrent of constant anxiety....I hate this!

Ya know, I don't know what this undercurrent is about...my dreams are good...things seem to be better for me...but this undercurrent has me questioning everything. What's it about? Am I doing this right? Did I do that wrong? Am I being bad and not know it? Just constant questioning about this and that.

I hate this crap.

so sorry you are feeling this. i have had that undercurrent for a couple of years now. i know how annoying it is and stressful. i find some relief with meditation, when i can actually concentrate long enough to get there. i find mine gets worse from my hormones, certain times of the month i can hardly take it. have you had a checkup lately? your hormones could be out of whack.

hope it gets better soon

I experience the underlying anxiety a lot and it is so frustrating, not knowing why you are so stressed. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Anxiety is a crazy thing. Somedays it hits me when I am so stressed and other days when I am completely fine. So I know how you feel. Just take one day at a time. And make time for yourself to be alone and relax, that always helps me. Underlying Anxiety

For reaons unknown anxiety and depression often occur toegher. Despite the fact they are two different things. When we think of depression we think of thoughts of hopelessness, overwhelming grief and a lack of energery. Anxiety is an activation of the flight or fight system of the body and for some people feels like they are constantly being hunted by a tiger.

A good treatment plan for anxiety will include Diet and Nutrition, Relaxation Exercise, CBT (or some type of therapy) and if desired medication.

It is imporant to get your anxiety treated because it can actually lead you back into depresion.

I hope you feel better!

I too have the constant underlying anxiety - and it is so exhuasting! It seems to affect evey part of my life, and literally sucks all the joy out of it (bet it has been over 10 yrs since I was happy/relaxed about anything). Has anybody ever gotten past this problem - if so how the heck did you do it.

Thanks everyone!

I haven't felt the underlying anxiety for a few days...I've been too hyper I guess! But maybe me trying to wean myself off of the caffeine may have something to do with it??? Could be.
