or would you know someone it might have worked for? im also contemplating on hypnosis to get to the reason for my panic attacks. any advice?

Hey Jumpinggrasshopper,
My last 2 years has cognitive behavioral therapy written in all aspects and its helped me tremendously. The thing is you will need to understand its what occurs over time and how well you respond. I've been helped and I've worked hard to get this far but its different for everyone and your path to wellness is just that, its uniquely yours to follow and I hope the best is yet to come. I've been mentally ill for 23 years. My first sting was hard to overcome, it accompanied a severe attempt at taking my life. By the time my fourties came I knew I couldn't play denial any longer and I came into a small town to try and make a living. Now I feel I finally belong and things are making better sense. Yes. |

CBT was used extensively in one of the rehab programs I did and in the psych hospital I was in. I found it enormously useful to challenge my distorted thinking patterns. It's a lot of hard work though, but worth it in my opinion. CBT did more for me in a really short time frame than a lot of other therapy I've tried. I still find myself using the techniques I learned when my thinking starts to get negative.

Yes, I've done it for about 2 years; It's very great to talk to someone about your problems; A counselor. I did a lot of excerises to change my thinking and I wrote in a journal to empty my mind.
