I just got terrible news. My brother-in-law's father and stepmother just died in an accident. Their propane furnace malfunctioned during the night and they both died of asphyxiation. They weren't found for 5 days.

The meds are keeping me pretty grounded, but I'm constantly having overpowering thoughts of feeling like it is all over and I'm next and no one is safe. It's the truth, but when you have trouble getting past it then it becomes a problem. Maybe it is because they were only in their 50's and 60's and that it was accidental that makes it so difficult to deal with. Seriously what is wrong with me? I haven't seen them in about 7 or 8 years.

I wouldn't say there is something "wrong' with you. Where would any of us know to put an experience like what you are going thorough? It is so scary and it reminds you of how unpredictable life is. Comfort yourself. I think its okay to be thrown off by something this out of the blue. Take care.

Thank you both for your relies. Rdoc I am so sorry for your loss.

I've always had a lot of anxiety about dying and about 50% of the time that is what keeps me up at night. I've been doing a lot better. My meds were recently upped and are now kicking in to add to the improvement.
