I've had anxiety issues since I was little.
It wasn't untill a year or so ago I was diagnosed.
Since I was diagnosed it's only become worse and worse over time.
I've been given several different medications.
None of them help.
Some of them hurt.

A friend of mine who "experiments" with drugs reccomended bezis or benzos.
To my knowledge I've never had an RX for them.

How can I persuade my doctor to let me have a script for these without coming off as a drug fiend?

I'm worried that the very fact that I know about them, will make him think I've been trying to get to these all along.

you know, just passing up all the other meds til he gives me the "fun" stuff.
Plus I'm younger so I'm sure he'll also hold that against my legitimate needs.

HELP

Your doctor hasn't tried you with Ativan, Klonopin, or Xanax? They're benzoes. If you don't know about drugs and their actions and anything about what your doctor has tried, I'd let your doctor do the prescribing; "experimenting" with drugs gets you addicted and medically as well as mentally ill. Not every drug is a good idea for younger people, your brain is still trying to develop and putting the wrong drug in at the wrong time can mess you up for life! I wouldn't trust a "friend" to mess with my health/life like that just because he's trying hard to wreck his own.

This is not a quick fix and is only my thinking of the day: the mind needs to be trained to change in such a way as to lessen and keep lessening the anxiety. Medications will not do that. They might help reduce it while the rest of you learns how to deal with the anxiety with the help of some brand of therapy. Without that, using a professional, or gaining understanding with the aid of reading and other means, the problem will not go away.
